About Me

My name is Jasmine Hendry and I live in Louisiana, USA. I was born and raised in a one red light town called Albany. Growing up I was always involved in numerous things. My life has been very busy since the day I could walk. I am 19 years old now and still dreaming big and working hard.

I have two cats named Luna and Willow and they are my precious fur babies. Besides spending time with my cats, I love reading, painting, writing, photography, and crafting. If I’m not doing one of the previously listed activities, I am probably cuddled up with my kitties and my boyfriend Jack watching Netflix and eating sweets.

My favorite color is purple, my favorite season is the fall, and my favorite holiday is Halloween. (Not that any of that matters, but hey, why not?) I went to LSU as an English major for two semesters and eventually decided that LSU was not for me. Whether I am returning to college is still in the air, but with or without school I will still push to be the best I can be.

I have accomplished many things throughout my life, as most of us have, but there are a few things I am particularly proud of. First, I am the co-founder of the first community park in my hometown. It is called J&N Albany Community Park. I started the project when I was 16 years old and saw it come to completion soon after I turned 19. Second, I have improved myself as a person immensely in the past year. This may not seem like a very big deal to many people, but to me, it is huge. I came from being a closed-minded, stubborn individual and have grown into someone who listens to every opinion and tries very hard to see the good in everyone. I am by no means perfect, but I am very proud of the direction I am headed. Third, and last, I got the nerve to create this blog. It is an investment and commitment. Though I was terrified and ill prepared, I jumped in and made things happen. I am beyond proud that I am expressing myself here for all to see and sharing my creativity with the world.

Long story short, I’m your average girl with really big reams. If you made it to the end of this long-winded section of my website thank you so much for reading. At the end of the day I just hope to make small differences in the world and positively impact the people I come in contact with throughout my life. If By Hand, With Heart can help me do that, then I will push through any obstacles that comes my way to make it happen.
